I have been a painter my whole life. In my art, I try to reflect color and light. I have a tendency to see every little facet of an emotion and feel every texture in my subject matters. My subject matter is diverse. I paint what I see and at the same time I try to show with line, texture, hue, and value the emotion caught in the subject matter. I work with color and shapes to direct the eye through the painting so that the viewers eyes do not rest but are guided through the painting and getting to appreciate the entire painting.
When you walk by a painting it should make you stop to look at it, even if it is of the most ordinary object or scene. It is the artist's job to make you see and notice the world.
I believe that life is visual as well as tactical.
